These homemade black sesame seed crackers are the perfect balance of simple and versatile, making them an ideal pairing with any dip or cheese.

My homemade black sesame seed crackers have the look of store-bought, but the best part? They’re super economical and so much fun to make at home! You’ll love how easy it is to create these deliciously crunchy treats that are sure to impress!

Ingredients:

  • 1 2/3 cups of flour
  • 1/3 cup of black sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of regular salt
  • 2/3 cup of water
  • 1 handful of coarse sea salt

Steps:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and get ready to bake some magic!

  2. In a large bowl, combine 1 1/3 cups of flour (saving the last 1/3), sesame seeds, salt, and 1/3 cup of water. Mix it all up until it starts coming together into a dough.

  3. If your mixture feels a bit too dry and isn’t holding its shape, slowly add the remaining water until it forms a dough ball that’s ready to roll.

  4. Dust the dough ball with the leftover flour, then roll it out into a thin sheet. If you have a pasta maker, now’s the time to shine! I used mine on setting 5, but don’t worry—rolling it out by hand works just as well.

  5. Once your dough is thin and smooth, cut it into fun shapes. I used a ravioli ruffled cutter (it brought me so much joy!), but a pizza cutter or any cookie cutter will do the trick.

  6. Arrange 8-12 crackers on a baking tray, sprinkle with coarse sea salt, and pop them into the oven.

  7. Bake for 4 minutes, flip them over, and bake for another 4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

  8. Let them cool, then enjoy these homemade crackers that are way better than anything you’ll find in a store!
